Lecrae Presents "The Altered Minds Tour"

You remember I put an ad up for the Don't Waste Your Life Tour featuring Lecrae, Flame, Trip Lee, Tedashii and Sho Baraka. Well, that tour has ended and a new one is about to start. It is called The Altered Minds Tour. Here's the info I got of the Reach Records site.

Starting October 1st is a two month fall tour covering 30 cities across the country! The Altered Minds tour will feature a diverse set of artistic styles with Lecrae, After Edmund, Sho Baraka (Nov), Tedashii (Oct), and Mike's Chair.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." - Romans 12:2a

As a culture we need our minds completely altered. Day after day we are bombarded with messages contrary to God's heart. "Live for yourself" is the constant pressure we feel and sometimes unscriptural messages even work their way in to our churches. Starting on the stage, a mixture of cultures but a unified voice will come together to call the nation to alter it's mind. It's time for renewal in how we view the world, how we view ourselves, how we view each other and most importantly, how we view Jesus. Only through Him will our hearts and minds truly be renewed.

Where do you stand? Does your heart need renewal? Do you have a friend you want to introduce to the Gospel? Come join us this fall in a city near you

Video: Casting Crowns - Until The Whole World Hears Tour Preview

To all my readers in the USA and to all of y'all who love Casting Crowns... Check this out!

Drifting Apart...

It seems like we are drifting apart,
I can feel it and you know it too,
When we talk, when we hang out,
I can sense the distance between us,
I can see the wall that is gradually building between us,
I know it and you do too.
So what are we gonna do?
Should we keep on acting like everything is cool between us?
Should we keep "smiling" at ourselves when we know we'd rather be laughing with someone else.
Honestly, I am confused... I guess we should talk,
What do you think?

The Danfo Experience

If you dwell and reside in Lasgidi (Lagos), you should be familiar with the Danfo. It is a yellow and black bus that has been used as a major means of transportation for as long as I can remember. I know I have been in ALL forms of transport and the danfo always amazes me everytime I enter it. There is always something new you always encounter
It could be the woman who is complaing that she did'nt hear that the bus fare was N100 instead of N70 or the man who wants to beat up the conductor because the conductor has not given him his change. The one that is really crazy is seating with a FAT woman...OMG!!! The bus will be so tight... OR the market women transporting fish from Oyingbo (which is close to my house) to Ikeja or Iyana Ipaja. Mehn! I hate entering those kind of buses.
The danfo buses are very very very very not every lagosians dream trust me. The thing is we dont have a choice. We have to keep entering them, enduring the smell of fish, understanding with the fat lady who will refuse to move in the bus, forgive and forget our N10 with the bus conductor and run after the danfo when it is scarce...Hmmnnn...Enough said...I need to rest.... I am gonna go hustle for a Danfo by morning. I need my rest.
Trotcha!

Random Discussion: I am in love with my sisters boyfriend!!!

You might think it can't happen or it is a little bit over the top but really, what will you do if you were in the girl's shoes. She is in love with her elder sister's boyfriend and apparently he loves her too...but guess what? her sister has no clue... what do you suggest in this scenario cause she doesn't want her sister to look at her as a boyfriend snatcher.

PS: They are all BORN-AGAIN Christians...

The Blood Covenant

I have not felt like this in a long time. Honestly speaking. I feel on top of the world. I can see the hand of God over my life. So many things have been happening and though they did not make sense at first. They are making perfect sense now. I am so grateful to God for the amazing and wonderful things that he does and is doing in my life.

I was in Church today and it was a communion service and truthfully speaking, I have not been in a service like that in a long time. It was so amazing, just being there in the presence of the Most High. The pastor, Paul Adefarasin then took the time to truly explain the depth of the price that was paied on Calvary and also the importance of the Holy Communion/ It was an amazing... to think that God could do all that he did and that Jesus could shed his blood for the eternal remission of the sins of the WORLD!!! I am forever thankful and indebted to this God. I have no other choice but to serve him. You may not understand but I do... I really do. I want you to take time now and consider your ways. Remember the Blood Covenant that was made on Calvary. You have been bought with a price. Become useful to your maker. Align yourself with the plan of God for your life and I assure you, your life will not remain the same. I leave you with songs that actually are "on point" for this season.

Enjoy the sings and to my Jewish brothers and sisters in Christ, I say Happy Rosh Hashanah. God bless you!

Hillsong- Worthy is the Lamb

Hillsong- You Are

Hillsong- Savior

Hillsong- At The Cross

Hillsong- Stronger

Enjoy!!!

My Favourite Celebrity Blogger

You might know her from Out of Eden or from the Revolve Tour. Her name is Danielle Joy Kimmey and right now she is one of my favourite celebrity blogger. Her blog Finally is the tighest, most down-to-earth in the whole of blogville. The girl talks about everything and I mean everything. From, fashion (which is her passion) to her relationship with God and her fellow man

I love Danielle because she blogs like me... Down-to-earth...tell it like it is...no mincing words. I am used to seeing lots of bloggers outsmarting themselves with big grammar and the likes. She gives me what I need and I love her for that.

Check out the blog!!! IT IS CALLED FINALLY

The Thing With Swagger...

This article is from the August issue of YADA Magazine.... Enjoy

It is amazing how urban culture evolves as fast as the speed of light. It’s no news that urban culture is largely influenced by the hip-hop culture so we can say we have been influenced from the guys in Cali to the guys in the ATL and not forgetting those who make the Bronx and Brooklyn their home. We had “bling-bling”, “pimping” and we also had the “izzle” phase. So what is the new thing in vogue now? What is the ‘thing’ that is defining urban culture? I don’t even need to say it... It is swag.

What exactly is swagger? Where did it originate from? Why is it one of the most widely used words in the urban dictionary today? There is Gospel Swag, Swagger Rock, Swagger Redefined even we have an article in this issue titled ‘Corporate Swag’. Ad- companies are beginning to use the word for some of their campaigns. I even saw a video on YouTube where CNN anchors were discussing President Obama’s swagger. Funny right?

According to Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, Swagger (as a verb) is walking in an extremely proud and confident way. As a noun, it is a way of walking or behaving that seems too confident. According to blurit.com ‘The word swag has a Scandinavian origin. Swag could be used as a noun and verb. A drapery or curtain that is wrapped in an arch between two points is called swag. Festoon or decoration of flowers or fruit is also termed swag. Swag could also be an ornament. It is carved out or moulded out of some substance that could be an accessory. In slang terms, swag indicates stolen property or loot. Herbal tea that is sold as marijuana to a naive customer is also termed swag. In Australia, the word swag implies a pack that contains personal possessions of a swagman. When someone lurches or sways, he is said to be swagging. This is mainly used in the British context. Swagging is also travelling about with a luggage or swag’.

This is not the context in which the word is used today. When you hear swagger now, it has to do mainly with how a person carries himself or herself. From the way the person talks, to the looks and then to the way the person dresses. I mean it is all encompassing. Swag entered hip-hop through the likes of Cam’ron, The Diplomats and Jay Z. Soon the word has kicked off and everyone has got swagger now. Every artist, actor and even white boys too are beginning to have swagger.

Swagger is a hip-hop slang that I can say has spread around the globe like a virus. However, most people have a problem with the word because of its original meaning. So what is going to be the next hip hop slang; arrogance, conceit, bragging. LOL! I am just playing.

So this is what’s up on urban culture and we will be back with more in the next issue of YADA. Peace!
