Au Revoir 2009... 2010... HERE WE COME!!!

Let's be real, 2009 was not really THE YEAR for most of us (OK for the peeps, I know, the year sucked!).But for me to say that 2009 was not a remarkable year, I will be lying... So I think I need to count my blessings and I will do it monthly

January... Hmmn, the month was just there, nothing really happened in this month. I fellin love with Hillsong in January sha. I also saw Ben Carson for like 2 minutes in my school.

February... This was the month I got the concept for YADA... Thank you Lord for revealing it to me... through my uncle of course...

March... The Talkaholic was 2 years old in March. Also I discoverd that Afrigator actually ranks blogs and mine was no 45 in Niageria (Now I am no 33).

April... I started Kiss and Tell... Love that blog...

May... MY birthday month...YIPEE!!! I was sick in the hopital and God healed me... Also... YADA came out this month and it rocked. People loved it. Thank God. and My best friend, also the editor of YADA, Bunmi Obanawu became the Vice Chairperson female of the Covenant University Student Council.

June...I started my podcast in this month and started working for Viktory at Viklife.com

July...My name became Anani.... Yahweh is my covering... Hallelujah!! LOL

August.... YADA came out again this month with Glory on the cover. I got Hillsong's Faith+Hope+Love album this month. I decided Kiss and Tell needs to be a book..also I was at the Harambe Conference...I want to add here that I am very thankful for the grace God gave Jeremy and Adie Camp when they lost their baby this month.

September... I entered my final year this month. The YADA website was launched this year and I got the concept for my mixtape this month.

October... It was a blessed month.... Don't wanna go into details

November... I fell in love with the Lemon and Lime flavor of Orbit. YADA November came out this month too..I also found a new hobby... Photography!!

Blog... I must... Pray for Nigeria...I shall!!!

Hey y,all!!!

How is it going down? I know I have not blogged like BLOGGED  in  a while but its just cause I have been really busy. Yeah... that's the truth...

Anyways, things have been OK lately... Xmas was kinda boring but it's all good.. at least I got to hang out with family on that day. Is that not what Christmas is all about???

The Nigerian that tried to blow up a plane is just... I dunno... his dad was a former Bank MD, the guy must have had money at his beck and call. Truth is we can never really tell what prompted him to want to embark on that kinda suicide mission... God help us... The guy, Umar Farouk Abdulmuttalab has been charged by the FBI with bringing a destructive device onto a plane and attempting to destroy a civilian aircraft of the United States in other words...he is a confirmed terrorist... Truth is.. the guy has had his radical views since his teens and they say that he defended the Taliban in class. The Federal Government has ordered a review of security in all airports in Nigeria.

In a weird way, I feel I need to pray for him, he is in the hospital now with burns and all. Let's pray for his healing and that God will change his heart. More importantly, we should pray for Nigeria. There is so much wrong with this country and we have been tagged as corrupt, scammers, cheats... we do not need terrorist added to the list.

I want all of us to pray... travelling to the US is gonna be super hard for us and the protocol go tire you.. na true talk oh!! Also, our fellow Nigerians abroad need our prayer... who knows what the US government will do or say now. Currently, Obama has ordered  an urgent review of how US authorities use terrorist watch-lists to foil attacks on US targets.

God help us oh.. help Nigeria... we need you now!!!

Trotcha!

PS: How can DSTV make a child go into terrorism??? Somebody explain because this man did not make any sense...

PS again: Maryam Babaginda will be buried any minute from now.

Myne Whitman's A Heart to Mend

Hey y'all,
It's been a while since I have been here... What's up? What has been going down? There is so much I will like to tell you but now is not the time. Anyways, I don't know how many of you are familiar with Myne Whitman. If you are not, then I am guessing you are not regular in blogville. Anyways, she is an amazing writer and a good friend if I might at add. She has her book out... It is called "A Heart to Mend" and below is the review...

Title: A HEART TO MEND
Author: Myne Whitman

A Heart to Mend, a novel recently published by Myne Whitman, is a new addition to the sparsely populated field of Nigerian romance novels. It is the story of Gladys Eborah, a young girl who has recently moved from Enugu to Lagos in search of work after completing her education. It describes how she meets and falls for the successful, yet emotionally distant Edward Bestman, and the turbulent relationship between them as she struggles to deal with his unwillingness to commit to a relationship. The novel also has two sub-plots: one which deals with her attempts to build a relationship with the estranged aunt who she stays with in Lagos, and another which reveals a sinister attempt to sabotage Edward’s business empire and ends up creating a huge rift in his relationship with Gladys.

The author immediately engages us in the first chapter by painting a vivid picture of Gladys’ feelings of apprehension on arriving in the busy, bustling city of Lagos. She also quickly sets the stage for the budding romance between Gladys and Edward. Thereafter, she gradually develops the story, and by degrees, we get to see how the relationship between the two protagonists develops. She paints a fuller picture of both characters; we get to see how driven and successful Edward is as she describes his business interests in realistic detail. But we also see conflict in Edward’s mind as he is torn between his desire for Gladys, and the mistrust of people planted in him from earlier experiences of betrayal. Gladys’ evolution from a simple girl new to the city to a young urban professional is also realistically chronicled, as is the turmoil she faces as she is uncertain of Edward’s feelings towards her.

The author also skillfully weaves in the sub plot involving the takeover of Edward’s business interests. It is clear that she has spent a lot of time researching to paint a realistic picture of business practices in the Nigerian financial industry; but what is more compelling is the drama that she conjures up as the identities and motives of the main actors in the takeover become clear, and the relationship between Gladys and Edward is threatened. The other sub plot involving Gladys’ aunt is not as integral to the story, but it does forms an interesting backdrop.

The author has used a writing style that is simple and direct, with lots of descriptive detail. On the one hand, this allows the reader to follow the narrative with ease, while at the same time immersing them in the story; on the other, readers who are more interested in the story rather than the setting may find the overly descriptive nature of the prose a distraction. As for the plot, the story is billed as a romance, so there are no prizes for guessing how the story ends. However, it is the journey, not the destination that entertains in this novel, and the author has done a great job of creating a story of two characters who engage our sympathies and who we find wanting to triumph over the odds that are thrown their way.

About Internet Radio
Internet being reachable to different places in the world, so does Internet radio. It has expanded enormously with an estimated 13,000 stations currently available, including many traditional FM /AM simulcasting their content over the Internet. It is estimated that the number of people listening to Internet radio will grow 200% to 147.5 million by 2010.

A Little Perspective on Internet Radio
Imagine (1) Internet radio station with an averages 2000 visitors per hour, 24 hours per day, the station will be bringing in almost 1.5 MILLION visitors per month. Now if you figure that the average person listens to the radio for 1.5 hours per day (and that's regular radio - it's hard to listen to Internet radio on your morning drive) we can estimate that 32,000 unique visitors frequent the site every day. If we establish a very conservative listener ratio of 1:3 (meaning the average listener listens for 1.5 hours over 3 days - ie, most don't listen on the weekends or every single day, some do, some only listen once or twice per week, nobody listens 24 hours per day), that gives you around 96,000 regular listeners per a major internet radio station times the figure with like 2000 major internet radio stations out of the 13,000 internet stations confirmed and currently available, including many traditional FM /AM simulcasting their content over the Internet.

My Danfo Experience- Part 2

Hey guys,
What's good guys? So good to be here blogging again. Thank you for the comments on the last post. They were truly amazing and I appreciate it again. Sorry for my inconsistency.. it's due to my lack of a functional laptop...lol... Can't wait to get my new one...just keep praying for me...

OK... so I have another danfo experience to share...

I boarded a bus to Oyingbo and as I was about to enter I asked the driver if it was health center or office (Don't worry. You cannot understand). Anyways, he told me it was health center and I entered. Immediately, an old woman behind started shouting that the driver told her it was office not health center. The man tried to explain to the woman but she would not listen . His wife, who was the conductor by the way tried  to explain to the woman but she took offense. She started speaking Yoruba, saying that she was 67 and that she should be respected and that the man has no respect... The husband and his wife told her to respect her old age and all and the next thing she started saying something that sounded like hoku, maka, mmukurinalo... It wasn't funny trust me... The man and his wife said her curses will not work on them... she said they were not curses that any good Christian who goes to Cherubim and Seraphim will know what she is saying... All these was said in Yoruba oh... The long and short of the gist is that they had to drop her off at a place to get another bus and they gave her money.

I have my reservations about what happened in the bus but I am not saying anything... the woman is 67... 3 years younger than my father...I think she deserves a little respect...

To more important information... YWAP Lagos is hosting a concert on Saturday called Mini... It is holding at Praiseville, Majoro Street, Yaba, Lagos and I really would love to see you there.

You can see... It is gonna be mad exciting...so click here to RSVP to the event... I cant' wait to see you there...

Trotcha!!!

A Love Sacrifice

This came in today from

Dear Friends,

Through God's grace, your support, and the work at C28, over 14,000 people have prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We have prayed with thousands of people and have witnessed countless answered prayers. In addition, millions of shirts with God's scriptures have been circulated that glorify God and communicate the grace and truth of Jesus. Please know that we are grateful for your continued support this year, and we trust and pray that you can celebrate the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ freely this Christmas!

With all the changes going on in this world, I wanted to share a few things with you that I personally need to change in my life. What I mean is, I try doing good 'deeds', but often find myself messing things up. There are times where I simply fall short of doing 'right', leading me to subconsciously want to make it up to God somehow. I already know that getting right with God only comes through faith in Jesus, and not by mere "good works". So why do we all try at one time or another to somehow sacrifice our way further into God's grace?

SACRIFICES As believers we know that Jesus was the best, truest and only sufficient sacrifice for our sins for a Holy and Righteous God. Knowing this fact means that all other sacrifices are like filthy rags before God. In the Old Testament we learn what God thinks about our human attempts to get right with Him and our countless righteous acts. "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away." Isaiah 64:6 The great thing about God is that He does not require sacrifices from us to get right with Him. To receive His mercy and grace requires our faith in His Son Jesus. All the sacrifices in the world cannot take away our sins, all the righteous acts in the world cannot give us a clean conscious, but only through God's grace can we have our sins and guilt removed. God simply wants us to come as we are (messed up and broken) and believe in Jesus and He will wash us clean and make us right with Him forever. Talk about abundant love!

GOOD SACRIFICES On the other hand, did you know that we are called to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, as our spiritual act of worship? "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship." Romans 12:1-2 While God does not require or want our sacrifices in order for us to receive His mercy and grace, He desires "good works" from us as a response to His mercy and grace. Once we are saved by faith in Christ alone, our purpose is then to fulfill the work that God has created us to do. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10 God also knows our fallen natures so well that He considers our praise of His name as an actual sacrifice. To praise God continually in all things is a worthy sacrifice. You see, to actually praise God does not come natural to us because we often want to praise our own names instead. We often want to receive credit for ourselves, and not give any credit away. Our praise of His name is received by God as a worthy sacrifice---WOW! "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name." Hebrews 13:15 Will you praise God today for His mercy and His grace in your life? Will you praise God in front of others when you accomplish great things or go through challenging trials? So remember, since we have experienced God's grace, we then should sacrifice for our Lord Jesus by loving Him first, loving others and praising His Name in all things.

BEST SACRIFICE IS LOVE The Apostle Paul tells us that "the" best sacrifice God wants from us is to live our lives in love. "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2 Are we loving the unlovable? Do we love those who irritate us, or do we only love those who love us and make us happy? "If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?" Matthew 5:46 The love that God wants from us most is the love we show the unlovable. Have we forgiven those who have sinned against us? Have you ever asked someone that you have wronged "Will you forgive me?” instead of just saying "I'm sorry"? There is a significant difference. "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift." Matthew 5:23-24 How often do we pray and God does not listen? Could it be that our prayers are not being answered because we have not forgiven others who have wronged us? We cannot cover up our unloving words and our sinful behavior by our generous offerings, impressive ceremonies, going to weekly Bible studies or by going to church every Sunday. Disharmony with God or with other people makes our spiritual victories impossible. "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers." 1 Peter 3:7

LOVING THE UNLOVABLE How many of us can love our enemies? Did you know that Jesus died for His enemies? How many of us can actually love our friends and family, the ones who usually know how to irritate us the most, the ones who have wronged us over and over again? "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you," Matthews 5:42-44 What Jesus is saying to us is to love our parents, our spouses, our kids, our friends, and others even if they have wronged us 77 times. To love our neighbors or bosses even if they have wronged us 77 times is a sacrifice worth doing. "...'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." Matthew 18:21-23 When was the last time we forgave someone 77 times? If we can forgive others, God receives that from us as a real sacrifice! This is the kind of sacrifice that He wants. Imagine that—forgiving and loving others is a sacrifice pleasing to God! "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Hebrews 13:16 If Jesus has forgiven you, then can you forgive others? To actually forgive and love a person is our sacrifice to God. Amazing!

FORGIVENESS AND LOVE Without forgiveness toward others, you show no real trust in God; if there is no trust then there is no love for God; and without love we quench the Holy Spirit's fire. Don’t just learn about God's Word and not actually do what it says. "always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth." 2 Timothy 3:7 Let's not keep merely listening to God's Word and say we are Christians, but let's do what God wants. "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." James 1:22 As hard as it is to forgive, as hard as it is to love, let us ask God to strengthen our faith by helping us love those who do not deserve our love. Are you holding onto what you consider a big offense, recent hurt or maybe a multitude of pain? Just let it go and give it all to God. He is the true healer and restorer of all pain. The Bible says that love keeps no record of wrongs. So what is love and why is it so difficult to love others? Love requires God's Holy Spirit to be working through us, or love is impossible. Only through obedience and trusting God can we truly love: if we wait to love because we finally feel like it, what good is that? "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 And here is the amazing thing, God loves you even though you have wronged other people and have wronged Him a million times over!!! If you have wronged God, you can repent and seek His forgiveness right this second. It is okay, God still loves you. After everything is said and done, the Bible defines love in many places, but true love is only complete when it's written on our hearts :-)

GOD ALWAYS LOVES YOU If you have not forgiven or loved people like you should have, do not worry. Simply ask God to forgive you and show you how to love others as yourself and He will be faithful. Even though we have all rejected Him, questioned Him, not believed in Him 100% and not always obeyed and trusted Him fully, know that it is for these very reasons why Jesus had to pay the price for our sins by His death on the cross. God is love, and He waits for us to come to Him in repentance. Whoever you are, if you are not right with God, just ask Him for His forgiveness. He will listen to you and forgive you no matter what you have done in the past. He will hold onto to you no matter what. When we seek Him with all of our strength we will find Him because He is always there waiting with open arms. Let the God of mercy and grace reach out to you right now, let Him come to you and love you. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest... for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:27-29 Will you go to Him with praise and thanksgiving, knowing His grace is abundant and made just right for you? :-)

"...And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" ...Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Romans 10:14-17

What a wondeful weekend..

Wassap Blogville!!!

Sorry I have been major buzzkill... As you know I don't ahve a laptop anymore so blogging is kinda hard fro me. I am still trusting God though that things will take an amazing turn. Anyways, I had a wonderful weekedn and lemme fill u in on what happened.

On Friday, we wenton our Christmas break and I was so excited!!!! Immediately I got home, I changed and found my way to The Experience 2009... an it was an experience... The coolest worship leaders were there... the music was WOW!!! and Kirk Franklin had an amazing PERFORMANCE!!! It was cool sha... I am so happy I went... I was woth my friends and we took pictures... they re coming soon sha...

On Saturday, I went to see Zombieland at OZone Cinemas... It was a very funny movie and I am so happy I watched it and on Sunday, I went to church... we had Experience part 2... it was beautiful... I then went for YWAP meting in the evening and it was super fun!!!

I felt kibnda bad on sunday when I was going to get fuel for the generator because I saw two kids who ere not older than 5 years old. They ahd been sent from a very far dsitancer by their father to buy fuel and they could not find their way back... I had to help them  find their way back and pay their transport. Also I was angry at their father... why will he send two little children that far distnace to get fuel. Was there no way he could have gone himself? What if something had happened to the kids? I prayed for them as I left them. We need to try our best to stop child labour in Nigeria... It has to stop

YWAP Lagos is having a concert called "Mini".

Hope to see you there...
