A different Kind of Birthday

It is amazing how God begins to teach us life lessons in different ways. And I understand this more with what happened today.

I always look forward to my birthday. I usually see it as a time to hang out with friends, chill and basically have fun. But today, I have learnt that there is more to birthdays than parties and presents.

I had plans to hang out with my friends today but for some reason or the other it could not happen. I was already feeling down and something inside me said "Why are you down? Why are you weary? Don't you know there is a lot to be thanful for?"

Trust God, He always finds a way of confirming his word. This time He used Bunmi, one of my best friends. She sent me this scripture

Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Verses 3-5 say
 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

How awesome is that? Wait until you read it in the Amplified Version

2Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits--
    3Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,
    4Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;
    5Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle's [strong, overcoming, soaring]!

I am so thankful for this new phase of my life and how God is already teaching me a lot on the first day of this [personal] new year. I am in awe of how He is reminding Him the inportance of being grateful for all that He has done and will do.

So now, I am sitting at home, typing this with a smile on my face and grateful for all my many blessings. Besides, I should be going for YWAP meeting now...

Wanna say thank you again to everyone that called me, sent a message on BBM, hollered at me on facebook and twitter or even sent a text. I am so thankful... May God bless y'all plenty!!!

Till my next post,

Harry
