Hey guys. Trust me to always update you with the right things. I have the list of the winners if this year 2009 Dove Awards and let us see if the people I wanted to win...won.
1. Artist of the Year: Steven Curtis Chapman (Well, I am happy he got it. Can’t believe Chris or Casting Crowns did not bag the award...and I voted)
2. New Artist of the Year: Tenth Avenue North (Another prediction that went wrong. I voted for FRANCESCA!)
3. Song of the Year: "Give Me Your Eyes" Brandon Heath, Jason Ingram (Another wrong prediction. What happened to Mighty to Save?)
4. Male Vocalist of the Year: Brandon Heath (Another wrong prediction. I guess Brandon deserves it more than Jeremy or Chris)
5. Female Vocalist of the Year: Natalie Grant (My first right prediction. Hallelujah!)
6. Group of the Year: Casting Crowns (Another correct prediction. Go Mark and Melanie!)
7. Producer of the Year: Bernie Herms (Wrong again. Wait what happened to Jason?)
8. Rock Recorded Song of the Year: "Lost" by Red (Wrong prediction again... What happened
to Stellar Kart or Fireflight?)
9. Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year: "Washed By The Water" by NeedToBreathe (Wrong again. Sorry Group 1 Crew. I wanted you guys 2)
10. Urban Recorded Song of the Year: "Get Up" by MaryMary (Thank God. I got this one right. Go Erica! Go Tina!)
11. Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year: "Do Yo Thang" by KJ-52 (Another correct prediction. Thank God! I won’t have minded Joyful Noise or Beautiful Morning)
12. Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year: "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath
(Another wrong prediction. This Give Me Your Eyes song sef. I must hear it oh! I can’t believe Cinderella or I Will Not Be Moved didn’t win)
13. Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year: "A New Hallelujah" by Michael W. Smith (I got this one right 2. Yippee!)
14. Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year: "Reason Enough" by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (No clue what this is)
15. Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year: "They're Holding Up The Ladder" by Jeff & Sheri Easter (Same as above)
16. Country Recorded Song of the Year: "I Wish" by Point of Grace (I got this one 2. The video to this song is amazing and Cindy Morgan wrote it again. I am really feeling Cindy)
17. Rap / Hip Hop Album of the Year: Ordinary Dreamers, Group 1 Crew (Another correct prediction. Go Group 1 Crew!)
18. Rock Album of the Year: Satisfied, DecembeRadio (Missed this one. I wanted Kutless or SKILLET!)
19. Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year: Never Going Back to Okay, The Afters (Why are my rock music predictions going wrong. Stellar Kart or Fireflight did not make it)
20. Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year: Revelation, Third Day (At least I got this one from Third Day. Thank God)
21. Inspirational Album of the Year: Great God Who Saves, Laura Story (Missed this one. Sorry Women of Faith)
22. Southern Gospel Album of the Year: Lovin' Life, Gaither Vocal Band (I got this one to)
23. Bluegrass Album of the Year: We Are Family, Jeff & Sheri Easter (Honestly? Seriously?)
24. Country Album of the Year: Around the Bend, Randy Travis (What happened to Bart Millard. Got this one wrong too)
25. Urban Album of the Year: The Fight of My Life, Kirk Franklin (I got it! I got it! I really really got it!)
26. Traditional Gospel Album of the Year: Down in New Orleans, The Blind Boys of Alabama (I didn’t have anyone in mind for this category but I am happy they won)
27. Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year: Change the World, Martha Munizzi (Missed this one. At least its Martha Munizzi)
28. Instrumental Album of the Year: Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Various (I didn’t pick anyone here)
29. Children's Music Album of the Year: Absolute Modern Worship for Kids 4, Various (I was wrong here. I wanted Hillsong Kids. They are amazing)
30. Spanish Language Album of the Year: 7th Day Slumber, Rescantame (No one here)
31. Special Event Album of the Year: Passion: God of This City, Various (I got this one)
32. Christmas Album of the Year: Peace on Earth by Casting Crowns (I got this one 2. Love this album)
33. Praise & Worship Album of the Year: Hello Love by Chris Tomlin (I got this one. It Go Chris!)
34. International Award: Aline Barros, Integrity Music Latin artist (Did not know about this)
35. Musical of the Year: God Bless the USA by Sue C. Smith, Brentwood/Benson (I did not predict this)
36. Youth/Children's Musical of the Year: An Island Christmas by Wayne Haun, Shelby Haun, Joel Lindsey, Lillenas Publishing (Same as above)
37. Choral Collection of the Year: I'll Say Yes by Carol Cymbala, Brooklyn Tabernacle Music (Same here)
38. Recorded Music Packaging of the Year: Revelation (Third Day) by Tim Parker, Becka Blackburn, David McLister, R.W. Sims, Essential Records (Same here)
39. Short Form Music Video of the Year: Slow Fade, Casting Crowns, Erwin Brothers Motion Pictures (Got this one)
40. Long Form Music Video of the Year: "Alive & Transported," tobyMac, Eric Welch, Tameron Hedge (I got this one 2... Go toby!)
So, as you can see there were 40 categories. I decided to predict the winners in 29 categories. OK. Maybe I hoped that in 29 categories at least maybe 2 people that I know and like will win in every of those categories. Anyways, out of 29 categories I got 15 right. That’s something aint it?
I am happy for everyone who won though. I am always excited that when the Dove Awards are around. Congratulations to Brandon Heath, MaryMary, Casting Crown, Chris Tomlin, Group 1 Crew, Point of Grace, Kirk Franklin and everyone else. Keep repping God’s kingdom.
