Living the life

#nowplaying (on the television) Raheem DeVaughn- I don t care (Don’t know and care for the song)

Have you felt like you been in a box and someone or something was sucking the air out?

Have you ever felt like you were climbing a ladder and you cannot climb higher even though there is room for further climbing?

Have you ever felt invisible, going through life like you are insignificant?

Have you gotten to a point where you don’t know anything anymore and when you want to tell someone what you are going through, you run out of the words to say?

Have you ever felt like you are not LIVING the LIFE?

I got two questions. What is living and what is life? Well, according to Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary says living is a way or style of life (there it is, life again). So what is life? According to the same dictionary, life is the experience and activities that are typical of all people’s existences or the experiences that are typical of the person’s life or a persons experience during their life or the activities that form a particular part of a person’s life.

I am not going to define “living the life” (sorry, do the math) but you will agree with me that living the life has to do with experiences and how these experiences are formed. So, if you have no experiences you have not lived. Or have you?

This has got my mind spinning. Can’t I learn from people experiences? How am I sure that my experiences are enough? Do I need more? Should I just learn from someone else’s?

I had to talk to My Father.

He did something. He took my mind back to the song “All you need” by Out of Eden..

Don't look no further cause iIm all you need

No matter the problem the answer's in Me
I'll give you courage and I'll give you peace
When you get tired you can lean on Me

Then He takes me to this part of the song

Oh it's hard to understand, that there is a master plan

That He's got our life in His hands and there is reason
And a time and season, to everything that comes along
Though it seems all faith is gone, just keep on believing
And You'll hear him say to you...

Wow. Hear I am trying to figure my life and here He is saying my life is in his hands. Is that not awesome? So here is what I will do

1. Love God
2. Love everyone else
3. Laugh more
4. Cry more
5. Take long walks in the evenings (Will have to carefully consider. In Las Gidi, especially Ebute Metta, evenings are nott he best time to be walking)
6. Eat healthy
7. Read more
8. Pray more
9. Be cool
10. HAVE SOME FUN!!!

Watch out for OUIView....It is gonna be legendary

TEN THINGS I LOVE AND THE NIGERIAN BLOG AWARDS

http#nowplaying The Washington Projects- Love is like an Ocean
True love is like an ocean,
Like every shade of blue,
And every time I feel it,
I don’t know what to do,
But smile...

This is totally unrelated to this post but I am very happy. I was somewhat nervous about my exams but God has been showing Himself strong in my papers. He is too faithful, I mean honestly I know that He is the one that is working and showing Himself strong in my examinations. I love Him too much.

NakedSha tagged me in a post last month and the post was called “Ten Things I Love.” First, I want to apologize to her for just doing mine. I totally do not have an excuse and I am sorry. Anyways, this is it so sit back and read the ten things I love.
1.    God. He is Immortal, Invisible, the ONLY wise God. The One who was, who is and who is to come. He is so loving and I wonder why He loves me. I look at my life and I can CLEARLY see His hand over my life. What can I say? I love Him so much.
2.    Family. I love my family. Trust me, we are not The Huxtables. In fact, we are FAR from being The Huxtables but I love my family. I love my mother, my father, my siblings... you should see me when I am talking about my family. My friends can testify to the look I have or the way I feel when I have not spoken to any of them. I love them so much.
3.    Friends. I love my friends. Bunmi, Glory, Vivian, Ndatse, Isoken, Ope, Otaigbe, Chiago, Chiwi, Victor, Ngbede, Stephen, Funmi... they are amazing. I love having conversations with them. I love fighting with them. I love when we just chill together. I love when we talk about serious issues. I love when they encourage me in my faith. It is amazing. I love you guys!
4.    Writing. There is nothing as good as pouring out your thoughts on paper. When I write, I get to see things clearly. It is amazing when I really want to say things but I cannot because I would rather put it down on paper. Some people say I am not a good writer so I should not bother writing. Well, it is too late for that because I am addicted.
5.    Music. I love music. I cannot imagine an hour passing by without me listening to music. Even without a device playing, the song will play in my mind. It is as if I can hear the song and sometime I get my dance on. Right now, I am even listening to music. Kind of music I like- anything that makes sense. I cannot listen to songs that do not pass a positive message. I love music that makes me think even when I am dancing. Now you see why I love Sho Baraka so much. The artists I like are Hillsong Live (Their new album A Beautiful Exchange drops July 2010), Sho Baraka (Lions and Liars is off the chain!!!), Out of Eden (I miss them so much), The Washington Projects (Light Up The Dark frops June 2010), Group 1 Crew (I can't wait for the new video) and the likes.

6.    Notepads/Notebooks/Journals. I love them. I spend most of my money buying notepads or cool notebooks or journals. Some of them are still empty, some of my friends have obtained some, some have been stolen but I still love to own them. I can get inspired anytime and it is good to have a notepad where you can put your thoughts in. One of my notebooks was a denim hardcover note and I wrote many things there but it was stolen. I was not the same for a week.
7.    Max Lucado. The first time I heard of Max Lucado was when one of my friends read one of His books and could not stop making noise about it. I am quite sceptical about Christian themed nonfiction books so I felt that he was probably one of them Christian authors who want to teach me a “Christian” version of the mainstream motivation messages. Everything changed when I read “The Applause of Heaven.” I loved the book so much I wrote a poem about it. Since then, Max Lucado never disappoints me. I have learnt so much from Him in a year and now I consider him my mentor.
8.    Talking. I am talkative. Most people think otherwise but you should ask my friends. I can talk a lot. I know it is not good too talk too much so I try to control myself but truth is I enjoy talking especially if I am talking to a group of people and I am telling them things they don’t really know. It is so cool. Talking is something I love to do although when you meet me for the first time, I WILL not strike you as someone that talks but do not mind the facade. I dey talk oh!!!
9.    Blogging. There is nothing that is as cool as blogging, especially when you are a Nigerian blogger. It is so much fun. I have been blogging since March, 2007 and back then it used to be kind of boring because I did not use to read other blogs. I will just post random stuff and my sister (Wise Sage) and Seye will read it and comment but things have changed. I have met amazing people on blogville and trust me the list is endless. I love blogging especially Blogville Naija... I am planning a party for us soon so keep your ears to the ground.
10.    Food. I love food. Rice, bread, egg, chicken, meat, banga, starch, dodo, noodles, spaghetti, potatoes, akara, moin moin, junk food... I love food and now I am hungry.

I hope you all enjoyed it. So now, I am tagging Dew, T-Notes, Rotex, Tolu Akanni and Chiwi. I am also doing a Q and A here. NakedSha has done it on her blog (This young lady inspires me) and Brooke Fraser also did it on her own blog so I want to do mine. So you can drop your questions after you comment or you can send your questions to my email harryitie@gmail.com. I am waiting for your questions.

The Nigerian Blog Awards are here and the Group A Category nominations have been released. Yours truly was nominated four times (Best Poetry Blog, Inspiring Blog, Best Student Blog and Nigerian Blog of the Year). You have no clue how I feel. And I will give you my heart,

And I will give you my world,
And baby I’ll be your girl (boy),
And I will say to you,
Everything I have is yours...

Meditate on Colossians, the 3rd chapter, the first verse. It says in The Message translation “So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides.”

The Blessing Post...

It's funny how you have an album and you never listen to al the songs. The only albums that I listen to all the tracks are Out of Eden and they stopped making albums so... but I mean Hillsong's Hope... I listened to the complete album and there were so many songs that I have not heard. Anyways, I listen to them and I am blessed beyond measure but there is one I love and it is called You Are/You Are Lord.... It is based on Psalm 27.... Check it out

You are my light and salvation,
whom shall I fear?
You are the strength of all my days,
of whom shall I be afraid?
Though war may rise against me,
of this will I be sure.

Chorus:
That I will bless the Lord forever,
I'll bless Your holy Name.
Yes I will bless the Lord forever,
I'll bless Your holy Name.

Lord it is you I desire,
it's You that I seek.
To live with You in Your house forever,
beholding Your beauty.

And In the time of trouble,
of this will I be sure.

Chorus:
That I will bless the Lord forever,
I'll bless Your holy Name.
Yes I will bless the Lord forever,
I'll bless Your holy Name.

You ask me who do I,
say that You are and I,
say that you are the Christ,
Son of the living God.

The song is wonderful. My life is not what I want it to be right now but for the mere fact that I serve this God, this amazing God who is my light and salvation, who makes al things beautiful in his own time... who I cannot even comprehend... check out the first verse talking baout what ever happens God has our back or is it the fact that I want to dwell in God's house forever, where I can just gaze at his beauty without earthly distractions or the fact that the hool emphasizes the point that Jesus is the CHRIST!! Our Messiah, the Holy One.... I mean come on, he is faithful, unfailing, lovng... Please let this song encourage you and know that He is all you need... Shalom & Baruch

Lisa...Andrea...Danielle...Honestly, What's Up?: A FAN'S DESPERATE PLEA

OK. It's no longer news that I am the greatest Out of Eden fan ever! LOL! Yeah. i am not obsessed though, I just love their music because it has helped me grow in my Christian walk. The issue now is that my girls have gone silent. Yes I know they are retired but whats up. Lisa was supposed to put out a solo album and I have not heard anything concerning that. Andrea was supposed to be getting her degree in nursing and I have no clue about that. Danielle was going into fashion and launching a line called 'Almost famous' I only saw the picture from the launch party on Lisa's Myspace.

So to anyone who might know the girls. I just want to know whats up? It may be none of my business but at least I need to hear Lisa's solo project. I thought that after her marriage to Juan, they will record something, I mean they have been making appearances on albums and they have also been writing songs for people. I need to know whats up with Lisa apart from Bobby Jones or Andrea or Danielle.

ON BEHALF OF EVERY LOYAL FAN OF OUT OF EDEN...WHATS UP? WHATS NEW? WE JUST WANT TO KNOW.

WE LOVE YOU!

Mighty Mighty Good

For the past three months, I have been listening to Out of Eden's farewell single 'Mighty Mighty Good'. The song is their last recorded song from their final album 'The Hits' which they released in the summer of 2006. The song of course was written by LISA KIMMEY-WINANS. Anyways, the thing is, listening to the lyrics of the song is simply amazing. I have been going through some issues for the past month but when I listen to the song, there is something about the lyrics, it's like they come alive in my spirit and I am feeling what they are feeling and experiencing the joy they are experiencing. Maybe that's why I have always loved Out of Eden. I recommend this album for everybody. I'll try and put the video here before the end of the week. Remember when you look back at your life, you'll realize that God has been Mighty Mighty Good to you!
