Update On Lisa Kimmey Winans

Our girl Lisa Kimmey was the backstage host at the 40th Annual Dove Awards and trust my girl....She killed it! I need to get the video and put here. She did it alongside Rebecca Saint James. They interviewed Tobymac and Mary Mary.

Lisa is also starring in a theater production called Still Life With Iris. Our girl is taking the role of Iris. The story is set in Nocturno, "Still Life With Iris" chronicles a young girl's quest to regain her memory and with it her home. With the help of the incredible people she meets along the way, Iris' crusade recovers more than her past. She succeeds in finding herself: the power of faith and the courage of persistence. These traits will lead her home. Nashville Children Theater hosts a Spring Festival on May 2 to help kick-off the new production's three-week run. The free outdoors event for families features contributions from various local organizations, including The Frist Center, Wishing Chair Productions, Howard Pink and his Musical Garden Hoses and Nashville Symphony.

Visit http://www.nashvillechildrenstheatre.org/ for more information.
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: April 28. Continues through May 17, 2009.

The struggle for Sacred Delight

I am scared and afraid. I need sacred delight.
I am not sure of my future. I need sacred delight.
I think I might mess up the plans that God has for me. I need sacred delight.
I feel that I might let my family and friends down. I need sacred delight.
I do all the wrong things. I need sacred delight.
I fear that I might be a hypocrite. I so need sacred delight.

I don't wanna fail, I wanna succeed
I want to be ALL that God wants me to be
I am scared...honestly... I am
I have made MANY mistakes
I do the wrong things over and over again
When will this cycle end?

Psa 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Really... I should? Will it ease this pain... emptiness... I am scared

2Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Really? Thank you Lord. So how do I get sacred delight. The boundless joy that comes from you only.

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I am sorry Lord. Sorry for the lies, the sins...all the wrongs... I am sorry.
My spirit is desperate for your touch.
Come and saturate my soul and grant me Sacred Delight

This piece is inspired by the book 'The Applause of Heaven' by Max Lucado. Remember

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith...

and know that Jesus can keep you from falling...

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy

Message In The Music- Identity by Lecrae

There are times in our lives that we get consumed by this world. We focus on material things and we try to get the approval. This song blessed me and it taught me that no matter what anybody says or feels. My identity is found in Jesus Christ and that is all that matters. I urge you to meditate on the lyrics to the song and you will be richly blessed.

\The song is on the 'Rebel' album by Lecrae
Lyrics to Identity :
(feat. Da' T.R.U.T.H. & J.R.)

Hair, check!
Shoes, check!
A brand new fit, lookin' cool, check!
I'm lookin' in the mirror like oooh, yes!
A cover for an insecure dude, check!

But she won't feel me and they won't like me
If I ain't in them J's and them brand new nikes
Let's think deep from aside the sikey
When it's all said and done even I don't like me

He live in the gym and his hair stay faded
Late model cars so they think he made it
He's Christian, gave his life
But he still ain't satisfied, and is saved in Christ
Still finds his identity in looks and cars
If he only knew that he ain't have to look so hard
If he looked in God
It may seem odd
But he be so satisfied, it'll leave you in awe

[Chorus:]
I'm not the shoes I wear
I'm not the clothes I buy
I'm not the house I live in
I'm not the car I drive, no
I'm not the job I work
You can't define my word
We're livin' on God's reverse
Identity in found in Christ, found in Christ

Hey, how do I gain success
What do I say I'm blessed
Is it the car that I drive
Or the place that I rest
Or the way that I dress, now, now
Is it the cars in the driveway
The stage and the set
Or my face in the press
It's the applause that dies
Or the praise that's stressed
Then my face is depressed, now
It's cause my value in the work
I produce in the booth it's

On Kiss And Tell...

I know most of you might be wondering what's up with the whole Kiss And Tell craze... Well, what can I say. One thing i know is that Kiss And Tell was an inspiration from the Holy Spirit. I know that one for sure. It came to me 'cause I realized that no matter how holy and sanctified we are, we Christians have battles we fight everyday. We struggle with everyday issues like love, lust, sex, academics, finances and the greatest struggle of all... trusting a God that we cannot see, feel and touch. That is the truth. Bolu and Bola represent young people to an extent and seeing them go through everyday life issues and coming out of different trials is the aim of the blog. Don't let the stories be just a form of entertainment but a way by which you will find hope and strength to move on in this thing called life.

There is a new installment. Check it out. http://kissandtellstories.blogspot.com/2009/04/kiss-and-tell-005.html

The Things We Do In The Name of God(or god)

Been doing a whole lot of thinking and studying and I am trying to comprehend the things that happen now in our society. I look at he WWJD? question and I am wondering if that is the situation with modern day Christians.

It's funny the things people do in God's name. People suffer, are maltreated.. people are even killed 'in the name of God'. CNN's Senior International Correspondent, Christiane Amanpour had to do a documentary on the situation. I feel it is appalling to do harm to people in the name of God. I will speak from Christianity because I am a Christian and I don't think the God I serve will want me to cause pain on people.

I have seen thing happen to people by some religious leaders in the church. Most people forget to answer the WWJD question every time and just use the 'God' license to do whatever. Going through scriptures, we can clearly see that God is a God of mercy, slow to anger and is of great mercy. I see a God who loves the world so much that he sen his son to die for all the atrocities that the world will commit. I see a God who wants to have good fellowship with his children. Yes, he calls forth obedience and he wants every one to be loyal to him and obey every single command but the reward of doing this maketh rich and added NO SORROW with it.

So what are we talking about here? Before we do anything let us ask the WWJD? question. This way, we are doing all things to God's glory and doing the RIGHT things in the name of the One True God.

Till my next post...

I remain The Talkaholic.

Kiss And Tell

Hey! I started a new blog and it's call Kiss and Tell... you will love it!

KISS AND TELL

The candid stories of twins, Bolu and Bola.

Have you met Bolu and Bola Abayomi-Coker? They are extremely different twins and when I mean different, I mean words and opposite different. Some people find it hard to believe they come from the same house.

Bolu: Age-20. Student, Nigeria International University, Abuja. The Guy. Single. Poet. Nerd. Bookworm. Rather stay indoors and read than party. First Class student. The ‘good’ kid. Parent’s greatest joy/asset. Single. Searching for another kind of love. Behind in the fashion/cool department. About to graduate from the University. Rock & Rap music only. Plays all the instruments and is a best friend to his sister.

Bola: Age-20. Student, Nigeria International University, Abuja. The Chic. The relationship one. Hip. Trendsetter. Loves to hangout and party with her girlfriends. Average student. A successful fashion designer. Has her very own car. All genres of music apply. Plays the guitar and is a best friend to her brother... and Boma.

Read their candid adventures through life. Hear their stories about life, love, dating, sex and a God they cannot see. The only thing they have in common apart from their DNA is the fact that they always KISS AND TELL!!!

Remember, there are TWIN sides to a story...
